Maintenance Schedule (Part 3, Section 3.9)

Monthly
Inspect halyard for wear, fraying, or UV degradation. Replace if damage is found. Inspect flag for tears or soiling and replace as needed.
Semi-Annual
Inspect truck assembly for smooth rotation and lubricate moving parts per manufacturer recommendations. Check pole shaft finish for corrosion, chalking, or surface damage. Inspect cleat, snap hooks, and flag attachments for wear.
Annual
For internal halyard poles: open the access door and inspect winch brake, cam cleat spring, cable tension, and cam lock function. Lubricate internal components. For all poles: inspect flash collar silicone seal and grounding conductor continuity. Clean shaft with mild soap and soft cloth — no abrasive pads.
Post-Storm
After any storm exceeding 75% of the pole's rated wind speed, inspect plumb, halyard condition, all hardware, and structural integrity before returning the pole to service.
